Es Canar is made up of pine forests as well as sandy shorelines, which means great contrast and exceptional scenery. It’s also a dream destination for outdoor recreation enthusiasts, because there are unlimited opportunities for things like windsurfing and parasailing. Dalt Vila (meaning upper town), is Ibiza’s old town and is on a hill, contained within ancient walls, and looking out to sea. The views from the ramparts are stunning, and the numerous winding, cobbled streets and steps lead towards the cathedral at the top. The main gateway into the old town is up a ramp and through an old draw-bridge. The area is not simply a tourist attraction but is still partly residential, and offers tantalising glimpses of real life through the occasional open door. A fascinating area to wander around during the day or evening, with many little shops, galleries, museums, and restaurants in the narrow streets.

Ibiza is known for having a super chill, bohemian style. It also has a few crafty markets that occur on a weekly basis, known as the hippy markets. The one in Es Canar usually happens every Wednesday, while the one in San Carlos happens on Saturday’s. You’ll find countless stalls of handcrafted jewellery, clothes and souvenirs. It’s a colourful and lively atmosphere filled with live music and street food. So go on, shop for something other than a shirt that says “I’d rather be in Ibiza”.
